2012 Ford E-Series Wagon: A Legacy Of Dependable Versatility

The Ford E-Series Wagon had a long history in the Ford Motor Company starting the line with a compact van in 1961. Succeeding generations of the E-Series adopted the scale of full-sized vans and became bestsellers. T

oday, the series still holds the majority of the full-sized van market in the United States accounting for almost 80% of the overall sales. The introduction of the 2012 Ford E-Series Wagon further left the competition behind with its unbeatable design built on versatility and power.

Capabilities of the 2012 Ford E-Series Wagon

The E-Series Wagon has been favored for the sheer amount of space it affords for the passengers. The largest of the bunch, known as the E-350 Super Duty XLT, can be configured to accommodate up to 15 passengers. While accommodating more passengers is important, designers of the van did not miss out on comfort by incorporating reclining clothed chairs with standard armrests for maximum comfort especially for long trips. Other versions in the series can also be configured to accommodate 7 to 12 individuals.

On top of standard van specifications, the 2012 E-Series Wagon stands out from the rest with its trailer brake controller (TBC) that complements the antilock brake system (ABS). This feature is crucial when the van is used for towing other vehicles. TBC works by synchronizing the vehicle and its trailer brakes in order to deliver seamlessly.

Safety Features

When it comes to safety, the van is fully featured with all the standard requirements plus the added innovations. The optional telescopic trailer tow mirrors is among the innovations featured in the series. This pair of tow mirrors helps the driver identify vehicles coming from the blind spot through its accurate manual convex spotter. Another set of safety features includes the four-wheel disc ABS, the tire pressure monitoring system, and the roll stability control (RSC) coupled with AdvanceTrac technology.

Engineered System

While rearview camera and reverse sensing system have become commonplace in large vehicles such as the E-Series, the manufacturer pushed the envelope further by integrating better electronic interface through voice-activated SYNC technology. For the driver to keep his eyes on the road, voice commands can be used to activate the information, entertainment, and communication systems of the vehicle. Playing music, learning about daily weather, listening to audiobooks, calling emergency numbers, and more can be activated conveniently through voice.

The 2012 Ford E-Series Wagon is also equipped with state-of-the-art telecommunication and navigation technologies such as the Premium Combination Audio/Navigation System, the SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and Crew Chief logistics coordinating system. The latter system assists in keeping track of the other vehicles in the fleet. The Premium Combination System, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive navigation map on a 6.5-inch screen. The front panels also feature other electronic controls including SiriusXM Satellite Radio feeds.

Models and Specifications

The largest model of the 2012 Ford E-Series Wagon fleet is the E-350 XLT Extended powered by a 6.8L EFI Triton 20-valve engine with TorqShift 5-speed automatic transmission. The regular E-150XL model, on the other hand, is the smallest in the 2012 series available in 4.6L or 5.4L Triton EFI V8 engine. For power, safety, and versatility, the 2012 Ford E-Series wagon truly delivers.

Presenting the 2012 Dodge Caravan

To the appeal of many families or van-lovers across the country, Dodge has produced the latest model of the Grand Caravan minivan! Continually living on to cater to the needs of many families or multiple person groups, this van is going for yet another year and is more stylish and attractive than ever before. With a new interior and exterior design that has evolved over the years, this ride is becoming more and more attractive as time goes by. This vehicle also provides some of the most space and protection possible for transporting special little passengers. The van has also become more comfortable and more developed with recent technology to give the most out of this vehicle’s ride.

It has evolved so much since its 1984 premier and has become one of the top choices in family vehicles. It has multiple seating (including specific child safety seating options) and also has screens for movie watching. The radio has a drive to store your music and play is as you desire. The upgraded transmission has the option to take you six different speeds and the engine is continually upgraded. This car is extremely safe for the little ones having received a famous full five star crash rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration
.

The 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan has also evolved in its fuel efficiency so that you can pay less for transportation. Lighting has also been improved for the van’s interior and exterior. The pricing of this vehicle for all the benefits that it brings makes the purchase of this vehicle a total steal. It has come a long way from once being the bulky and unattractive mini school bus that it once was back in the 1980s and 1990s. The present vehicle is of the Dodge Generation V class being the most modern class Dodge has presented since 2008.

This van works pretty hard for being just a mini van. Not only does it do the job that it is supposed to but it does this job well. Besides doing a job well done, this vehicle also aims to impress with its new design. Once this van looked as if it had neither style nor hope and now it has increased in its popularity making it one of the most common rides on the road. However, with every wonderful thing there is no such thing as perfection. The new model has had frequent complaints about the quality of the tires. If the tires were to change to be better quality any time soon, then this minivan would be an unbeatable subject on the road.

Latest word is that this minivan may be working on an 8 speed transmission within the
near future. This would be a pretty exciting development for this continually evolving minivan. Last but not least you know that you should not ever get lost wherever you are with this vehicle due to the latest GPS technology that has been installed to provide you with the best navigation possible. All in all, this sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Where to Buy Used Vans That Don’t Suck

Here is an on-going list of places to buy used vans that don’t suck.

Craigslist – Craigslist probably has the most used vans on the market right now because there are not that many car dealers that stock vans.

eBay – eBay is another good place to bid, or buy outright.  However, the problem with this buying method is that it’s hard to find a van within your city.  Buying on eBay requires a little luck.

Oodle - this website is probably the worst out of the bunch.  However, their selection of mini-vans is nothing to turn a nose to.

Craigs Cars for Sale – This is a Craigslist Search Engine that checks every state instead of just one state at a time.  I know it’s not a van search engine, but it works the same way.  This site also compliments http://craigslistcars.info because this site shows you how to buy cars and vans and highlights vehicles for sale.

The rest of the used van sites and searches are limited to certain cities, so they are not useful for people like me that need to find something with my city.  Do you guys know of any other places where people can search for used vans?  If so, please leave a comment in the comment space below.  Thanks.
